THIS IS ME! | Print |  E-mail

To whom this may concern,
know that I am Human,
that I am not perfect,
but I am from a Godly descent,
therefore I am entitled,
to make mistakes.

I cry and I bleed,
and you may not realise this,
but I am just a Woman, all the same,
seeking Love, Peace and Happiness,
in what seems to be in all the wrong places,
a Woman looking for smiles on all the wrong faces,
a Woman who sometimes stumbles, falters and falls,
but rises to the occasion every time her name is called.

I am a Woman nothing more and nothing less,
a Woman who strives to be all that she can be,
which is nothing shorter than the best,
THIS IS ME!

Mother’s of Abused Children

Sometimes we laugh to keep from crying,

sometimes we smile occasionally to hide the sadness in our eyes,

sometimes our young can so easily be taken advantage of

and we ask the dreaded question, why?

You see, God knows the truth

and He knows the reason why,

It’s up to us to believe,

and put a stop to those who think they are getting by.

We don’t wish anyone bad luck,

there’s no hatred in our heart,

our lives with non-convicted pedophiles is over,

a new life we now will start.

But our journey doesn’t stop here,

to help others who are in need,

we are going to keep on praying

and keep on fasting

and one day we all will succeed.

Because our victims have rights

Oh yes, and our rights will be heard,

That the justice system

work for those its wants to work for

But yet and still,

You will continue to hear our every word!

Love vs. Death

Today my death certificate

I might have signed, because in my eyes,
love was so blind.

How could one treat me, without dignity and respect?

I was not; and I am not, the cause of this yet.

It takes two and those two should have been one.

I don’t deserve what I’m going through,

I deserve a lot more,

but if killing me makes you happy,

by all means, what do I do, what do I say?

I did love you up until the day we split;

but if killing me makes you happy,

guess what, your kids want ever forget,

that a man like you,

their daddy I’d say,

could kill their only mother and take her away.

What kind of a daddy could you possibly be?

I don’t understand why you’d want to kill me,

You had me; I was yours,

but it didn’t work out,

I guess we should have sat down and talked about.

I can’t make you happy anymore you see,

so by all means, if you really loved me,

You would SET ME FREE!

A Spouse Who Wants to Be Loved!

Words cannot express how one must feel,

hurt, deceived, mistreated; unreal.

I’ve loved you so much and taken care of

you for so long, others would have left

you, but me, I was strong.

The bond we shared was one so true,

please tell me what were we to do,

to hold on to our marriage, to forgive and

forget, to raise all of our children with dignity and respect.

I’ll do all that I can,

but you too must do the same,

its time to mature

and stop playing childish games.

Let’s learn to love each other again,

put aside the lies, mistrust and the

outrageous sin,

a real spouse would be there,

through the thick and the thin;

to have and to hold, no matter where one may have been.

What a real spouse would do,

to protect the one’s they love,

is to give them everything,

with the help from the good Lord above.

I would do anything for my precious one,

I want you to be happy, I want us to enjoy,

everything I have to offer,

please, be the spouse that I need,

Because together you and I can surely succeed.

Mom, I have a question!! | Print |  E-mail

Mom, I have a question!!!

Sitting at the stop light
Looking at your picture
I began to wonder
What would you be like
Are you like me
Shy yet firm
Approachable yet stern
Loving or demanding
I wonder if you would still be married to daddy

would your name be hyphenated
Would we like the same colors
Would we share the same dreams and aspirations
Would you love dancing
Would you write poetry
Would we dress alike
I hear you loved to dress and even made your own clothes
Guess what? Me too...
I heard you bought things and took them back to the stores, what’s funny is me too
I know through others that we are one, but I really wish you were here
to show me the way
Show me who I am suppose to be
Help me to grow into the lady you created me to be. Show me how to love
and be loved and show me the way to the hearts of many as you did the
18 years you were allowed to be on this earth.
Show me how to dress the curves you gave me and show me how to use the
smile we share together more deeply. Yet all these things are great additions but the best thing of all would to be with you in a kitchen sharing moments of mother and daughter love, that’s what I’ve been missing. Know that I love you and always will carry you in my heart. I write this for you so that I will always know that you and I will never be apart.

Beautiful
(For my Nanny)

We’re just pieces of canvas
Waiting for the touch of God’s paint brush
And you were a work of art
A hue of strength, will and determination
Colors that blended beautiful
You are beautiful
And it’s that painting that stays in my heart
Even though it hangs in heaven
See God collects art
He’s been waiting for you
Wrote the caption and cleared the space with his grace
He’s always knew you were priceless
And I’ve always called you mine
Beamed bright with each smile like sunshine
I don’t know about the dark days
I just remember the light in your eyes
And that I never wanted to be by your hospital bedside
Because it didn’t feel like that fortress
I turned your king sized bed into
Or like your bosom when I’d spread out across your lap
And rest my head on you
But I won’t lay you to rest
Until they rest me stead with you

I’ve seen art
A colorful picture dressed to a tee
In fine dresses, hats, and accessorized with jewelry
Now my tears shimmer like diamonds down my face
And I’m dressed to a tee
Yes you are here with me
No I will not mourn
Imma celebrate God’s most precious creation
I’m not gone sing no sad songs
With you in my heart I’m never alone
I just ease my "Trouble in Mind" and sing some Nina Simone
Flip quarters like the ones I took from your change tin
Close my eyes and feel like you’re here again
Because it’s all too soon
Went wrong too soon
I know heaven has been waiting on you
But they called you home too soon
Now I’ll look to the heavens before I cry
And see the painting on the wall in the sky
Hung on clouds during the day
And outlined in constellations at night
Hold back my tears with all my might
And I’ll try to smile like you

Nanny I’m sorry
Because I never wanted to see the picture fade
Stayed away because I couldn’t imagine the canvas that way
And no one asked my opinion but there was no need
Because your spirit still spoke to me
When I picked up my pen you wrote with me
When I stepped on that stage you spoke with me
Where do you think I got this sharp tongue?
You gave it to my mother and she gave me its potency
See I don’t know what to do with a paintbrush
Otherwise I’d have restored you healthy
And held you until we forgot all the moments we weren’t together
I’ve never felt so weak
Until I realized that I do know how to use a pen
So I write you here in every word I speak
And rejoice knowing we’ll spend every moment in my memory together forever
Let God have his perfect picture
Because you are always pictured in my heart
And one day I will be back with you
My beautiful work of art
