About the Designer:

 Skylier A. Blanchard.......

is the owner and designer for the Skylier Wear Collection,

an Oakland - base fashion label.  She has shown a passion

for promoting the economic growth of Oakland for the past 20

years and has worked with many city officials and business developers

to generate innovative ideas for the community.

As an employee at the Lilli Ann Corporation 1991-93,

Skylier made her decision to become a fashion designer and produced her

first women’s collection and fashion show in 1992.  Not

knowing the work or responsibilities ahead of her, Skylier began to

pursue her career in the dynamic industry of fashion. She sharpened

her merchandising and business skills while working with

companies such as Blanc Noir, Macy’s at Union Square, Sears and

other major retailers and refined her design skills in Europe.

Skylier enjoys multi tasking, working with colors, perfecting details,

and continually testing and reviewing her products in size,

weight, color and textiles.  She is continuously developing

and creating new product ideas. To date, The Skylier Wear Collection has

developed 95 percent of its designs in house – from choosing

fabrics, selecting raw material, developing the patterns and producing the

first sample.  After approval of the garments they then go

 into production.

She obtained a Fashion Design Certificate (2004) at Alameda

 College in Alameda, CA

Passion, Patience and Education are the keys to building a

successful business. Skylier seeks to utilize her

talents to make a difference in one person, a community,  and even the

 next Generation.

Norman Notes:

Slip into Jimmy Choo for Hunter's covetable black crocodile-print Wellington boots for the chicest way to weather seasonal storms. In the Summer  wear these achingly hip boots with cutoff shorts or skinny jeans and band T-shirt for cooler-than-cool festival style. In the Winter  rock with Burberry Black Trench, Roberto Cavalli sweater, a Chloé bag and Earnest Sewn jeans.

Details

Black tall crocodile-print Wellington boots. Jimmy Choo for Hunter boots have a round toe, a gold-tone buckle fastening tab on side, gripped sole, panel detailing and a leopard-print lining.
